Eric Wilmoth – Lead Guitar and Vocals
After a couple of years messing around with the trumpet and then piano, Eric was introduced to the guitar at the age of 11. What started out as a summer school class learning the basics of acoustic guitar evolved into an absolute passion that has lasted nearly 30 years. Eric started out playing in public when he was 26 years old, playing local coffee shops and special events back in Honolulu, Hawaii. Soon he was playing in a blues band called Full Moon, featuring Bud Cerio, www.budcerio.com, on lead guitar. Eric left his childhood home of Hawaii when he was 30 years old for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. While living in Denver, Eric played in the band Hollow Bones, which he co-founded with fellow guitarist Steve LaZar (currently of the Juba Juba band, www.jubajubaband.com ), and enjoyed nearly seven years of gigging with this original jam band. Eric moved to Camano Island in 2005 and soon after joined The Acoustic Detour. In the fall of 2007, Eric and his beautiful wife Jennifer moved to Portland, Oregon, where they currently reside. He lists the Grateful Dead, Jackson Browne, Miles Davis and Neil Young as some of his greatest influences. |
